THE GAME AT A GLANCE
No. 5-ranked IUP women's basketball (16-1, 11-1) wraps up its first round of divisional opponents Wednesday night with a road matchup at Seton Hill (12-7, 6-6 PSAC). Tipoff at the McKenna Center is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The Crimson Hawks rebounded from their first loss of the season with a 73-51 win at Clarion Saturday. The Griffins stopped a two-game slide with an 86-64 win at Pitt-Johnstown over the weekend.

Carolyn Appleby had 10 points and 4 steals during a 26-0 second half to help the Crimson Hawks push past Clarion. She and Jr. F

>> IUP is now 4-0 after a loss in the last two seasons and 13-5 since 2015-16.
>> IUP wrapped up its three weeks at the top of the Division II rankings with a 5-1 record as the No. 1 team.
>> The Crimson Hawks are 7-0 on the road this season with an average scoring margin of +28.4 points.
>> Six of IUP's road wins have come against PSAC opponents, including three 80-point performances.
>> In three games against Seton Hill in her hometown of Greensburg, Appleby is averaging 17.7 PPG with a 47.4 FG%, 43.8 3FG% and 90.9 FT%. She scored 20 points last year and 24 points as a sophomore.
>> The Crimson Hawks are 24-4 against PSAC teams in true road games since the start of the 2016-17 season. That includes an 10-game win streak dating back to last season.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE GRIFFINS
>> Seton Hill is 12-7 overall and tied for 4th in the PSAC West standings with a 6-6 league record.
>> The Griffins are 5-3 at home this season, including 3-3 against PSAC teams. They defeated Mercyhurst 85-77 on Jan. 16 after losses to Gannon (79-65) and Edinboro (69-64) early in January.
>> The Griffins have played one other ranked team this year, losing 66-59 at #15 Cal on January 21.
>> Seton Hill is 3rd in the PSAC in scoring at 75.2 PPG with nine 80-point outings.
CRIMSON HAWKS REMAIN IN TOP 5 OF NATIONAL RANKINGS
>> The Crimson Hawks dropped to No. 5 in the WBCA Coaches' Top 25 after their first loss of the year last week.
>> They held down the No. 1 spot in the poll for three straight weeks, going 5-1 as the top-ranked team.
>> It marked the first time in program history that IUP was No. 1 in a Division II poll.
>> The Crimson Hawks have been ranked in the top 5 of the WBCA poll all year, starting off at No. 5 in the preseason rankings. They were also ranked No. 3 for two weeks and No. 2 for one week.
>> The Crimson Hawks are ranked No. 10 in this week's D2SIDA Media Top 25, falling from No. 3 last week.
>> They are also the No. 2 ranked team in the media's Atlantic Region poll.
IUP IS ONE OF THE TOP SCORING TEAMS IN DIVISION II
>> The Crimson Hawks lead the PSAC and are ranked 11th in Division II with a scoring average of 80.6 PPG.
>> They have scored 80 points eight times and 90 or more points five times, including two 100-point outings.
>> Those 100-point games - 101 vs. Ohio Valley and 100 vs. Cheyney - are the 14th and 15th 100-point performances in program history.
>> The 95 points against Alderson Broaddus is the 2nd most by IUP in a season opener (96 vs. Ohio Valley, 2002).
>> Four players average double-figures in scoring (Appleby 17.7, Wolosik 12.9, Robinson 11.2, Griggs 10.2) while all 13 who have seen the court average better than 2.0 points.
THE IUP DEFENSE ALSO AMONG THE BEST IN THE NATION
>> IUP ranks 2nd in Division II in 3FG% defense (.239), is 4th in scoring defense (51.8), 5th FG% defense (.339), and 32nd in steals per game (10.5).
>> IUP has held opponents to 50 or fewer points seven times, including a season-low 32 points to Shippensburg. That's tied for the 10th fewest allowed in program history and the least given up since the 2011-12 season.
>> IUP has forced at least 13 turnovers in all 17 games, including eight games of 20-plus.
>> IUP has faced nine of the top 10 individual scorers in the PSAC, holding them to an average of 6.2 points below their current averages. Ariel Jones (Shippensburg) averages 25.7 points but was held to just 10 on December 8.
CAROLYN APPLEBY IS IUP'S TOP SCORING THREAT

Carolyn Appleby ranks 11th in the PSAC with 17.7 PPG. As one of the top pure shooters in the league, she has a 43.8 FG%, 86.4 FT% and has 25 3-pointers.
>> She has seven 20-point games hitting the mark five times in the last 10 outings.
>> Appleby is averaging 18.8 PPG against PSAC teams, including a season-high 25 at East Stroudsburg.
LAUREN WOLOSIK IS ON A HOT STREAK

Lauren Wolosik returned from on Jan. 2 just in time for divisional play and has been dominant, averaging 13.6 PPG and 6.8 APG with a 53.1 FG%, 52.9 3FG%, and 3-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
>> She scored a career-high 33 points on 14-18 FGs and dished out 10 assists in the blowout win over Edinboro.
>> For the season Wolosik leads the PSAC with 6.3 assists/game, a 3.2 assist-turnover ratio, a 47.2 3FG% and is 6th with 2.5 steals/game.
BRITTANY ROBINSON CONTRIBUTES ON BOTH ENDS OF THE FLOOR

Brittany Robinson is 3rd in IUP history with 146 career blocks, including a team-high 17 this year.
>> She's 3rd on the team in scoring at 11.2 PPG, with three games of at least 18 points.
>> Robinson is 2nd in the PSAC and 12th in Division II with a 59.0 FG% (85-144) this season.
LEXI GRIGGS PROVING VALUABLE IN HER FIRST YEAR AS A STARTER

Lexi Griggs leads the team in rebounding (6.9 RPG) and is is 4th in scoring (10.2 PPG), and assists (36).
>> She also 2nd on the team with a 55.7 FG% (78-140) and 16 blocks.
>> Griggs has three double-doubles this season, including two in the last seven games. She posted a career-high 17 points in wins over Pitt-Johnstown and Clarion, and had a personal-best 12 boards at Slippery Rock.
