IUP Football’s Luke Barker and Johnny Franco to coach for U.S. Under-18 National Team

INDIANAPOLIS – IUP football assistant coaches Luke Barker and Johnny Franco will serve in similar roles for the U.S Under-18 National Select Team at the 10th annual International Bowl Series Friday, January 11 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
 
The United States will compete against the Panama National Team in International Bowl X at 5:30 p.m. at AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys and college football's Goodyear Cotton Bowl, and webcast live on ESPN3.  
 
Barker will serve as the running backs coach while Franco will coach the defensive backs. Both coach the same position groups at IUP.
 
This is Barker's second year coaching for USA Football. He served as the offensive coordinator and running backs coach of the Under-16 squad at International Bowl IX in Texas last January. This will be Franco's first stint with USA Football.
 
The head coach of the Under-18 squad is Ryan Larsen, the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks' coach at Stevenson University (Md.).

U.S. National Team alumni include DT MALCOM BROWN (New England Patriots/University of Texas), LB SHAQUEM GRIFFIN (Seattle Seahawks/University of Central Florida), QB DWAYNE HASKINS (Ohio State University), RB TODD GURLEY (Los Angeles Rams/Georgia University), DB TYRANN MATHIEU (Houston Texans/LSU), RB JONATHAN TAYLOR (University of Wisconsin) and DE STEPHON TUITT (Pittsburgh Steelers/University of Notre Dame).
