Crimson Hawks return home for matches against Kutztown, East Stroudsburg
IUP women's volleyball (2-11, 1-3 PSAC) return to the Kovalchick Complex for a pair of matches against PSAC Central Division opponents Kutztown and East Stroudsburg this weekend. The Crimson Hawks play Kutztown Friday night and host East Stroudsburg for their annual Dig Pink matchup Saturday afternoon. IUP won its first league match last Friday at West Chester in splitting its weekend trip. Kutztown hasn't won a league game and has dropped seven straight while ESU has won of the best records in the conference.  

QUICK HITS
>> The Crimson Hawks ended a five-match losing streak with a comeback 3-2 win over West Chester Friday. After dropping two straight sets, IUP rallied for a 27-25 fourth set win to keep the match alive before taking the fifth.
>> Freshman outside hitter Nicole Peterson was named PSAC Southwest Athlete of the Week for her performance over the weekend. She had 41 kills in the two matches, averaging 4.56 kills per set with a .284 hitting percentage. She posted two 20-kill performances, including 21 against West Chester.
>> It was the first PSAC weekly honor by an IUP player since setter Katie Miller in November 2017.
>> Peterson is 13th in the conference with 3.02 kills per set and 15th with 3.44 points per set this year. 
>> Freshman opposite Brooke Little had 14 kills in the four-set loss to Millersville and freshman setter Leah Henderson averaged 9.44 assists over the weekend.
>> IUP will face the top defensive team in the PSAC in East Stroudsburg. The Warriors lead the league with 2.58 blocks per set and is second in opponent hitting percentage at .106.
