GREENSBURG, Pa. – The 2019 IUP women's volleyball season came to a close Saturday afternoon as the Crimson Hawks dropped a three-set decision on the road to Seton Hill at the McKenna Center.
IUP finished the season with a 7-21 overall record, including a fourth place finish in the PSAC Southwest Division with a 6-13 conference record.
Nicole Peterson led the way with team-highs of eight kills and 12 digs while
Dominica Niccolai had 27 assists.
Division-winner Seton Hill (19-9, 14-5) won Saturday with scores of 25-23, 25-14 and 25-10.
The Crimson Hawks built a 16-9 lead in the opening set with six different players chipping in on the offensive end. Seton Hill slowly got back into the set, tying it at 20-20 and eventually scoring three of the last four points to win by two.
The Griffins didn't trail the rest of the way as they cruised to the win.
Peterson ended the year with a team-high 313 kills, becoming just the fourth freshman in program history with at least 300 kills in a season.
