WEEKLY NOTES

IUP Women's Volleyball hosts its last home weekend of the season
The Crimson Hawks (6-16, 5-8 PSAC) are at home for the final time this season as they host Mercyhurst Friday, Edinboro Saturday for Senior Day, and end the weekend on Sunday against Gannon. IUP is coming off a weekend split, sweeping their match against Slippery Rock and being on the losing end of a sweep to Clarion.

QUICK HITS
>> Tough competition from the PSAC Northwest Division opposes the Crimson Hawks as the three teams coming into this weekend's matches are a combined 49-27.
>> With two weeks left in the regular season the Crimson Hawks are still in postseason contention, although they have a short rope and would need help as they trail the final playoff spot (Edinboro) by 2.5 games
>> The Crimson Hawks will celebrate the careers of senior Jessica Ignace and junior Dominica Niccolai, who is graduating early, prior to their match against Edinboro Saturday afternoon. Ignace is second on the team with 2.24 kills and 2.67 points per set, and third with 0.65 blocks per set. Niccolai is 9th at IUP with 7.39 career assists/game and 10th with 1,087 assists.
>> Nicole Peterson remains cozy in the PSAC top 15 for kills as she has been in the list several times this year. Coming into this weekend ranked 13th
>> Against Slippery Rock this past Friday Lizzie Virgin recorded 16 kills and 2 blocks to help the Crimson Hawks to their season best hitting percentage, .301.
>> To go along with their impressive record Gannon also has two players ranked in the top 5 in the PSAC for hitting percentage. Ashley Kerestes ranked 1st has a .341% while Maggie Greenfield ranked 5th has a .310%.
