THE GAME AT A GLANCE
No. 6 IUP men's basketball (6-0, 2-0 PSAC) gets back to conference action with a Saturday road trip to PSAC East foe Mansfield (2-4, 1-1 PSAC). Tipoff at Decker Gym is scheduled for 3 p.m. The Crimson Hawks hit the court for the first time in a week after last Saturday's 91-70 victory over Felician in the IUP Thanksgiving Classic at the Kovalchick Complex. Mansfield has a home tune-up Wednesday against Roberts Wesleyan having not played since PSAC crossover weekend (Nov. 23-24), splitting games with Seton Hill (W 87-73) and Cal U (L 89-69).
TIPOFF NOTES
>> The Crimson Hawks had their best offensive performance so far in the win over Felician, putting up a season-high 91 points with six players scoring in double-figures. IUP had a 50.7 FG%, hit 10 3-pointers, and committed a season-low 7 turnovers.
>> So. G
Dave Morris scored a season-high 17 points on 6-10 FGs with 3 3-pointers and 4 steals.
>> This will be IUP's second road game of the year, also defeating Le Moyne 82-78 on Nov. 15.
>> IUP HC
Joe Lombardi is 7-2 all-time against Mansfield, including 1-2 at Decker. That road win came in 2017-18 (63-52) and is part of five straight wins for IUP over Mansfield dating back to the 2011-12 season.
>> The Crimson Hawks have won nine straight games over PSAC East teams, including last year's postseason. Their last loss to a cross-division opponent came to East Stroudsburg (85-82) in 2017-18.
>> Mansfield enters Wednesday's game against Roberts Wesleyan with just one previous home game, an 85-77 loss to Frostburg State November 13.
>> Despite losing the rebounding edge in Saturday's win over Felician (-6), the Crimson Hawks still lead the PSAC with +6.7 rebounding margin. Jr. G
Shawndale Jones is IUP's active leader with 6.2 RPG.
>> Five different players have led IUP in scoring this season with four active players averaging at least 10.0 PPG.
