IUP women's tennis (1-0, 0-0 PSAC West) opens up its spring schedule Sunday with an indoor match against West Virginia Wesleyan (3-0, 0-0 MEC). Start time at Harmarville's Alpha Tennis & Fitness is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
NOTES
>> This will be the Crimson Hawks' first action since defeating East Stroudsburg 6-1 in October. That was IUP's only dual of the fall after competing in four individual tournaments.
>> IUP's only loss in the ESU match came as a forfeit in the No. 6 singles spot.
>> With a February 3 start, this will be IUP's earliest spring opener under HC
Larry Peterson. IUP played Case Western Reserve Feb. 9, 2014.
>> The Crimson Hawks are 14-8 in February matches since the spring of 2011. They have won four straight spring openers including an 8-1 victory at Oberlin a year ago.

Julia Newman (11-5) and
Mariana Valenzuela (10-3) enter the spring with double-digit singles victories. Valenzuela has 20 combined victories with a 10-3 doubles record.
