AT A GLANCE
IUP women's tennis (2-0, 0-0 PSAC West) gets back to action with a road match against Division III Denison (0-2, 0-0 NCAC) Sunday in Ohio. Scheduled match time is 11 a.m. at the Mitchell Center. The Crimson Hawks opened their spring season with a 5-2 shorthanded win over West Virginia Wesleyan February 3. The Big Red have played twice this spring, including a 6-1 loss to Division I Butler last Sunday.
NOTES
>> The Crimson Hawks saw their top four singles players all pick up wins in their victory over West Virginia Wesleyan. IUP had only five healthy players and gave up the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles matches.
>> The win over Wesleyan extended IUP's spring opener win streak to five.
>> The Crimson Hawks also improved to 15-8 in February matches since the spring of 2011.
>> This is the fourth straight spring IUP has matched up with Denison. The Crimson Hawks are 3-0 in those matches including a 6-3 victory a year ago.
>> Freshman
Laura Dunarova will make her IUP dual match debut this weekend. She went 6-5 in tournament play in the fall.
>> IUP has three players ranked among the top 15 singles players in the Atlantic Region according to the ITA:
Katya Minchenkova (6th), Newman (9th) and
Laura Dunarova (13th).
