INDIANA, Pa. –
Katya Minchenkova was one of six Crimson Hawks to win a pair of matches as IUP women's tennis opened PSAC West play with a 7-0 win over visiting Seton Hill at the Maple Street Courts Sunday afternoon.
Minchenkova won 6-4, 6-3 at first singles and teamed with
Thais Andreotti for a 6-1 victory at the top doubles spot to help the Crimson Hawks break a three-match losing streak in what was also the home opener.
The Crimson Hawks (4-5, 1-0 PSAC West) swept doubles to take the point, including Minchenkova and Andreotti's win.
Maria Magraner and
Laura Dunarova opened up the day with a 6-1 win at the third spot and
Julia Newman and
Mariana Valenzuela capped doubles with a 6-3 win at two.
Andreotti started singles play with a 6-1, 6-1 win at four followed by wins at six by Magraner (6-2, 6-1), five by Valenzuela (6-3, 6-1), and three by Dunarova (6-1, 6-3).
Newman played at two and picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win while Minchenkova wrapped up the day with her win at one.
This marked the sixth straight PSAC West opening win for the Crimson Hawks dating back to the 2013-14 season.

The Crimson Hawks return to non-conference play Thursday with a road matchup against West Liberty in West Virginia. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The Hilltoppers are 7-3 overall but have dropped two straight matches to Mercyhurst and Slippery Rock.
