THE GAME AT A GLANCE
Third-seed IUP women's basketball (30-3, 18-3 PSAC) advances in the 2019 NCAA Division II Elite Eight to play two-seed Southwestern Oklahoma State (34-1, 22-0 GAC) in the national semifinals. Tipoff Wednesday evening is set for 6 p.m. at Ohio Dominican's Alumni Hall in Columbus, Ohio. The Crimson Hawks defeated Azusa Pacific 73-60 in the quarterfinals while the Bulldogs advanced with a 71-61 win over St. Anselm. 

TIPOFF NOTES
>> Sr. G Carolyn Appleby scored a game-high 17 points to lead four scorers in double-figures in the win over APU. Jr. F Lexi Griggs scored 13 first half points while Sr. G Lauren Wolosik had 16 and Sr. F Brttany Robinson had 11.
>> IUP forced the Cougars into 17 turnovers and limited them to a 35.4 field goal percentage. 
>> Robinson had 6 blocks in the first half and in doing so broke the IUP career record with 187. 
>> IUP is making the program's second straight - and third ever - Elite Eight appearance. The Crimson Hawks advanced to the national semifinals a year ago and also advanced to the Elite Eight in 1999.
>> IUP is making its 13th NCAA tournament appearance with 16-12 record, including 8-1 the last two seasons.
>> This is the fifth straight NCAA appearance under HC Tom McConnell, a program record. McConnell has the most NCAA tournament appearances (5), tournament wins (9) and regional titles (two) in program history.
>> IUP is in the midst of its best two-year run in program history. The Crimson Hawks are 60-7 (.896) with two regional titles, a PSAC tournament championship, and a school record 30 wins each season. 
>> The Crimson Hawks are 17-1 away from home this season, including 5-0 in neutral site games.
>> IUP has won three straight games over ranked opponents by an average of 9.7 points. 
>> Appleby is averaging 17.5 PPG in 13 NCAA tournament games (10-3). She has four 20-point outings including 24 points in the regional championship win over Cal U.
