AT A GLANCE
IUP women's tennis (6-8, 2-1 PSAC West) looks to rebound from a tough week as they head east for three non-league matches this weekend. The Crimson Hawks will play Goldey-Beacom (12-4, 7-1) Friday in Delaware, and Concorida (14-6, 7-1) and West Chester (9-4, 4-0 PSAC East) Saturday and Sunday in West Chester. IUP enters the weekend having dropped three straight matches, including two to ranked opponents, and is coming off its first divisional loss of the year at Mercyhurst (4-3). Goldey-Beacom and Concordia each have 7-1 records in the Central Collegiate Athletic Conference (CACC).
NOTES
>> Kayta Minchenkova had IUP's biggest win at Mercyhurst, posting a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Kayla Frost at the No. 1 spot. Minchenkova is 13-12 in singles play this year, including 6-7 in dual matches.
>> This will be the fourth straight year the Crimson Hawks have played Goldey-Beacom, winning each of the previous matches by a combined 20-7.
>> IUP hasn't played Concordia since 2012 and is 3-0 against West Chester in the regular season since 2013.
>> IUP had a 3-match losing streak earlier this season but responded with three straight victories, with two of those coming by shutout.
>> The Crimson Hawks have five remaining regular season matches after this weekend, including three divisional contests against Slippery Rock, Edinboro and Cal U. The SRU match was originally scheduled for March 30 but was postponed due to inclement weather and does not yet have a makeup date.
