IUP women's tennis (6-5, 2-0 PSAC West) has its toughest weekend of the regular season on the horizon with matches against No. 26 Grand Valley State (19-4, 8-1 GLIAC) and No. 20 Wayne State (17-5, 7-2 GLIAC) in Stow, Ohio. The Crimson Hawks will face the Lakers Saturday at 2:45 p.m. and the Warriors Sunday at 1 p.m. with both matches in the LaTuchie Tennis Center. IUP has won three straight matches and is coming off a 7-0 victory at Clarion Tuesday. Grand Valley has won four straight and is 9-2 this spring while Wayne State carries a 6-3 record this spring.Ā

>> Tuesday's victory was the easiest of the spring for the Crimson Hawks, who tallied three singles wins of 6-0, 6-0 scores including
Julia Newman at No. 2,
Laura Dunarova at No. 3 and
Thais Andreotti at No. 4.Ā
>> It was the second 7-0 divisional win for the Crimson Hawks in as many matches.Ā
>> The Crimson Hawks are one of two 2-0 teams in the PSAC West (Slippery Rock).
>> Newman carries the longest win streak of any IUP player with a +5 at No. 2 singles and +4 at No. 2 doubles. She has a combined dual match record of 16-6.

Mariana Valenzuela is IUP's leader in overall wins this season with 32. She has 14 wins in duals, including a 5-5 singles record and 9-2 doubles record.
>> IUP is 22-11 (.667) in doubles play as a team in dual match play, with a combined 17 wins at the Nos. 2 and 3 spots.
>> This marks the seventh straight year that IUP has scheduled a weekend against Grand Valley State and Wayne State, teams traditionally ranked in the top 50 by the ITA.
>> IUP is 3-3 against both schools in the previous six respective meetings, but coming off losses to both last April.
