OBERLIN, Ohio –
Maria Magraner and
Joanna Stralka were each responsible for a pair of victories as IUP women's tennis competed on the second day of the Oberlin College Invitational in Ohio Saturday.
Stralka earned a singles win over Nicole Cardwell of Case Western Reserve 6-4, 6-1. She also combined with
Mariana Valenzuela for an 8-6 win over Case's Karnam and Ramani.
Magraner picked up a 6-1, 7-5 win over Oberlin's Dina Nouame and paired with
Thais Andreotti for an 8-6 doubles win over Lacey Cohen and Lauren Fadden.
Other Saturday wins for IUP came from
Idoia Huerta and
Julia Newman in singles play. Huerta defeated mira Amin 6-1, 6-1 and Newman beat Clara Drasch 7-6 (2), 2-6, 14-12.
