No. 7 Crimson Hawks soar to 101-49 win at Clarion

CLARION, Pa. – Senior guard Malik Miller led five Crimson Hawks in double-figures as the seventh-ranked IUP men's basketball team dominated in all facets to score a 101-49 win at Clarion Wednesday night.

Miller finished with 20 points as the Crimson Hawks won their sixth straight game to improve to 24-2 overall, including 19-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). It was the second straight blowout victory for IUP, which has road wins over Seton Hill and Clarion by a combined 103 points.

The Hawks were on fire from beyond the arc as they made a season-high 16 on 30 attempts. Eight different players had at least one trey, with Miller, Armoni Foster and Ethan Porterfield knocking down three apiece.

IUP was dominant from the opening tip, using a 21-0 run to take a 32-6 lead midway through the first half. The Hawks buried 11 3-pointers in the first half alone, with their 10th – coming from Porterfield – giving them a 30-point lead at 49-19 with 3:26 to play in the half.

IUP added 11 more points in the final two minutes to tally 60 en route to a 35-point halftime lead.

The Hawks went on a 13-0 run in the second half to go over 80 points as their lead grew to 46 points with nine minutes to go.

It lead hit 50 points on what might have been the play of the night, as Dave Morris jumped in front of a cross-court pass and later dished a pretty behind-the-back pass to Chucky Humphries for a slam dunk.

Alan Glover Jr. knocked down IUP's final trey of the night to put the Crimson Hawks over 100 points and give them their biggest lead at 54 points in the final minute.

Who stood out
