INDIANA, Pa. – IUP and the Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex will be the home of the 2020 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Basketball Atlantic Region Championships. Games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 13-14 with possible regional championship games Tuesday, March 17.
The IUP men's and women's teams each earned top seeds in their respective Atlantic Region rankings as the NCAA Division II field of 64 was announced Sunday night. The men won conference regular season and tournament championships and enter the NCAA tournament with a 28-2 record. The women won the conference regular season title and finished as runner-up in the tournament, and bring a 28-3 overall record into the NCAAs.
With dual hosting responsibilities, the NCAA will split the regional brackets with IUP and the Kovalchick Complex playing host to four women's and four men's teams this weekend. Seeds in each bracket making the trip to Indiana include the Nos. 1, 4, 5 and 8 teams.
Tickets for the Atlantic Region Championships go on sale Tuesday, March 10 at 10 a.m. at the Kovalchick Complex Box Office. All tickets will be general admission only with no reserved seating. Adults are $12 per day while youth (ages 3-18), senior citizens (65+) and students from participating institutions with valid school ID are $10 per day. For each women's game during the tournament, 100 seats directly behind each team bench will be reserved for that school's fans. There will be 150 reserved seats for the men's games. Those fans will be asked to relocate at the conclusion of their game to make way for the next game's fans. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
