INDIANA, Pa. - In what will be IUP's only dual tennis match of its fall season, the Crimson Hawks defeated Kutztown by a score of 7-0 Friday afternoon at Maple Street Courts.
Atlantic Region and PSAC champion
Karolin Kirchtag continued her undefeated fall with a pair of victories, winning 6-0, 6-1 in singles play while teaming with
Katy Graydon for a 6-1 win in doubles action.
Region and conference doubles finalists
Natasha Munday and
Joanna Stralka had the win at the second doubles spot by a 6-0 score.
Other Hawks to pick up singles wins were
Lydia Vlachou 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2,
Laura Dunarova 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, and
Abby Jones 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4.
With a lack of players, Kutztown (0-2) gave up one doubles and two singles spots.
Up next
Saturday's morning match against West Chester has been postponed due to forecasted inclement weather. Several IUP players will be in action at the 2021 ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia next week.
