INDIANA, Pa. - Hannah Scardina scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick in the 59th minute to lift IUP women's soccer to a 1-0 conference win over Cal U Saturday afternoon at South Campus Field. 
Scardina capitalized on the the Vulcans' miscue, putting the ball in the lower right corner as the Cal U goalie went the opposite way.
The win was the fourth in the last five games for the Crimson Hawks, who improved to 6-3-1 overall and 5-3-1 in conference play. Their 16 points are fifth in the PSAC West, trailing fourth place Gannon by one, third place Edinboro by two, and second place Mercyhurst by three in a tight race.

Samantha Gildner had three saves and posted her fourth shutout of the season.
