INDIANA, Pa. - The IUP women's basketball team (2-0, 0-0 PSAC) continues its season-opening homestand as the Crimson Hawks host Mount Aloysius Wednesday morning in their 7th annual Education Day Game at the Kovalchick Complex. Tipoff is set for is coming off a good start to its season, defeating Virginia State and Livingstone in the PSAC/CIAA Challenge over the weekend. The Mounties enter the matchup having started the season 0-2.
TIPOFF NOTES
>> This will be the fourth ever meeting between these two schools, with the Crimson Hawks winning each of the previous three matchups. The last meeting was an exhibition to start the 2011-12 season with IUP winning 71-34. These teams also met during the 1999-00 and 2000-01 seasons.
>> IUP is 6-0 in its Education Day games with an average scoring margin of +44.4.
>> The Hawks have hit program records in recent Education Day games, including 32 points allowed to Pitt-Bradford in 2019 and 125 points scored in the win over Geneva in 2017.
>> IUP enters this matchup after giving up just 80 points in two games to Virginia State and Livingstone over the weekend. Those teams shot just 25.9 pct. from the floor while IUP forced a combined 40 turnovers.

Justina Mascaro led IUP in scoring both games over the weekend, averaging 16.5 PPG. She was a 1st team All-PSAC West selection in 2019-20, leading the team with 14.2 PPG with shooting splits of 52.8/43.3/76.8.

Maura D'Anna averaged 12.0 PPG and 10.0 RPG with a 63.2 FG% over the weekend. She posted her fourth career double-double with 12 points and 11 boards against Livingstone.
