INDIANA, Pa. - The IUP women's tennis team tallied its third win of the week by defeating Bluefield State 6-1 at the Maple Street Courts Saturday afternoon.
With the win the Crimson Hawks improved to 10-3 overall and 4-1 against Atlantic Region top-10 competition.
IUP picked up the doubles point with three victories.
Idoia Huerta and
Lydia Vlachou blanked Bluefield State's top pairing by a score of 6-0, earning their ninth straight win.
Karolin Kirchtag and
Katy Graydon also won their ninth straight witha 6-4 win at two while
Laura Dunarova and
Abby Jones won 6-4 at three.
Kirchtag won the match's top singles draw with a 6-0, 6-1 score to give IUP a 2-0 lead. Vlachou followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win at five and Huerta made it a 3-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-2 win at two.
Also winning for the Hawks were Jones at six by a score of 6-2, 6-4 and Dunarova at five by a score of 6-2, 7-6.
