LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – IUP graduate QB
Mak Sexton was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Sexton becomes the second IUP player to earn PSAC West Offensive Player of the Week honors, joining
Duane Brown on October 3.
Sexton had an efficient outing in guiding 15th-ranked IUP to a 41-0 shutout victory of Edinboro last Saturday. The Leander, Texas native went 16 of 18 passing for 338 yards and three scores.
Saturday's effort marked the fourth 300-yard passing game of the season for Sexton, who completed just under 90% of his passes in the victory.
Following Saturday's win, Sexton ranks seventh nationally in completion percentage (.669), third in passing efficiency (178.0), and fourth in yards per completion (15.61). He is third in the PSAC with 15 passing touchdowns in 2022.
IUP returns to Miller Stadium on Saturday, October 22, hosting Seton Hill for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
