LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Making his debut last Saturday against Seton Hill, IUP redshirt freshman punter
Aiden Spitler was named the Pennsylvania State Athletics Conference (PSAC) West Special Teams Athlete of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.
Spitler averaged 42 yards on five punts in a 44-7 victory against the Griffins. He placed four punts inside the 20-yard line and had two over 50 yards.
The State College, Pa. native booted a 69-yard punt in his first collegiate attempt, getting a generous roll that was downed at the Seton Hill one. He added a 59-yard boot in the second quarter that rolled out inside the Seton Hill 15 before dropping two more inside the 20.
IUP benefitted from advantageous starting field position throughout the afternoon in the team's ninth consecutive victory.
The Crimson Hawks hit the road for an important divisional matchup at Gannon on Saturday, October 29.
