Box Score 1 BUFFALO, N.Y. - The 23rd-ranked IUP women's tennis team opened its spring semester by splitting weekend matches against Division I opponents in New York. The Crimson Hawks defeated Niagara 5-2 on Friday and fell to Buffalo 6-1 on Saturday.
Natasha Munday won a team-best three of her four matches over the weekend, posting IUP's only win in the Buffalo match, 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 3 singles spot. She also wont 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 against Niagara and teamed with
Katy Graydon for a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles Friday.
Other winners from the Niagara match included IUP's top doubles team of
Karolin Kirchtag and
Joanna Stralka, who won by a score of 6-1. In singles play, Kirchtag rallied for a 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 victory at No. 1 while Stralka picked up a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the No. 2 spot.
Laura Dunarova won at No. 5 by a score of 6-3, 2-6, 7-5.
