INDIANA, Pa. - Mark Edeburn allowed just two runs in a 3-2 complete game victory in the opener as the IUP baseball team split a doubleheader with Lindenwood Friday afternoon at Dougherty Field.
Edeburn improved to 2-2 on the year after scattering six hits and fanning four in the 7-inning complete game win. He gave up just one hit and didn't allow a Lindenwood (11-9) run through four innings.
The Crimson Hawks were the first on the board in the bottom of the fourth, with
Austin Mueller getting on base after being hit by a pitch.
Nick Hess followed with a double to right and
Peyton Johnson brough Mueller around with a single to center to make it 1-0.
The Lions tied it up with a leadoff home run in the fifth. The Hawks put together a two out rally in the bottom half, starting with an infield single by
Markus Cestra. After Mueller drew a walk, Hess smacked a double to left to score both and give IUP a 3-1 lead.
Lindenwood threatened in each of the next two innings, but Edeburn worked out of both jams, giving up just one run in the seventh before a double play ended the threat.
Game two
The Hawks got up on the Lions 3-0 in the second inning of game two after a RBI triple by

Colin Williams.
IUP built a 5-1 lead in the third after a
Colton Burd RBI double, but Lindenwood got to IUP pitching with runs in the fourth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth innings. The Lions would win the game 12-6.
