MELBOURNE, Fla. - After taking an early lead after doubles play, the IUP women's tennis team dropped a tight match to Florida Southern Friday afternoon by a score of 4-3.

Karolin Kirchtag and
Natasha Munday won in singles play while two of IUP's three doubles pairings picking up victories.
The 11th-ranked doubles team of
Katy Graydon and Kirchtag won handedly at the No. 2 spot by a score of 6-1. After a loss at No. 1,
Lydia Vlachou and
Laura Dunarova rallied the Hawks for a 6-4 win at No. 3 to pick up the doubles point.
Florida Southern started singles play by grabbing wins at the Nos. 4-6 spots to take a 3-1 lead, before clinching the match with a win at the top spot. Kirchtag won her match at No. 2 by a score of 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) and Munday followed with a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 3.
The Crimson Hawks fall to 5-6 overall with the loss. They'll wrap up their challenging spring break trip Saturday against Tampa.
