GREENSBURG, Pa. - The IUP women's tennis team extended its win streak to four and posted its first shutout win in more than a month with a 7-0 victory over Goldey-Beacom Sunday afternoon at the Greensburg Raquet Club.
The Crimson Hawks improved to 9-7 overall, including 4-0 in the month of April. Goldey-Beacom fell to 5-7.
IUP cruised in doubles play with three easy victories.
Joanna Stralka and
Natasha Munday won 6-3 at No. 1,
Karolin Kirchtag and
Katy Graydon won 6-1 at No. 2, and
Laura Dunarova and
Lydia Vlachou won 6-0 at No. 3.
Singles play was much of the same for the Hawks. IUP's six winners included 42nd-ranked Kirchtag 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1, Stralka 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2, Munday 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3, Graydon 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4, Vlachou 6-3, 7-5 at No. 5, and Dunarova winning by retirement at No. 6.
