LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – IUP linebacker
Drew DiNunzio-Biss was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Week, announced Monday afternoon by the league.
DiNunzio-Biss was once again all over the field, posting 10 tackles (five solo), 4.5 TFLs and one sack in his final collegiate game. IUP ended the season on a high note with a complete effort in a 31-0 shutout of Bloomsburg on November 11 at Redman Stadium.
IUP limited Bloomsburg to just 49 rushing yards and 140 total yards (2.9 yards/play) on the day.
DiNunzio-Biss becomes the third IUP defensive player to win the weekly award by the conference during the 2023 season, joining
Cole Weightman and Darrius Bruce. He ranks fifth in the PSAC in tackles/game (8.5), fifth in solo tackles/game (4.4) and third in tackles for loss/game (1.5) through the end of the regular season.
The Vandergrift, Pa. native earned First Team All-PSAC West honors in 2022 and closes his IUP career with 214 career stops and 94 total tackles in 2023. Biss added 7.5 sacks during his career, posting 5.5 sacks this season.
