CLERMONT, Fla. – The Indiana University of Pennsylvania softball program fell to Bentley in the first contest by a score of 6-5 before bouncing back to beat Alliance 6-4 immediately following that one heading into its rest day on Monday.
Despite only collecting four hits versus AU, IUP scored six runs via two sacrifice flies and three baserunners crossed the plate directly correlated to Warriors errors.
Delaney Patella had a 2-for-2 game, a pair of RBIs, and a run scored in the second contest while
Faith Jones and
Jaycee Haidze had two singles apiece in game one against Bentley.
Tess Smiley recorded an RBI-triple and
Meghan Grill laced a double for the only extra-base hits of the day.
The speed came on the legs of
Paige Truax and
Allyssa Schmidt who each nabbed two steals each.
Anyssa Brannon secured the victory on the mound with three innings of two-run, two-hit ball while
Bella Bucy locked down save number two on the year by getting four outs over six batters faced.
The next two Spring Games will be on Tuesday afternoon versus St. Thomas Aquinas at 1:30 p.m. and Felician at 3:45 p.m. inside the Sleepy Hollow Complex.
