Five-Run Lead Quickly Evaporates At Wheeling

WHEELING, W.Va. – The Indiana University of Pennsylvania baseball program jumped on Cardinals pitching early with a five-run second as well as a 6-1 edge after nine outs, but the bats fell into a slumber while Wheeling peeled off 17 of the final 19 runs to o win 18-8.

The Crimson Hawks' eight hits all came from different players with 12 IUP batters reaching safely.

Andrew Sicinski was one of two players to get on-base more than once as he walked twice and singled.

The other student-athlete to accomplish the feat was Colton Burd who drew two free passes, scoring once.

Torrey Roper opened the scoring by smacking a two-run double to right field before coming around to score as part of that big second frame.

Elijah Dunn broke the club's three-way tie for the home run crown coming into the day, blasting his fifth jack of the year via a solo shot in the third.

Brady Yard roped an RBI-double in his lone at-bat, Markus Cestra stole the squad's only base, and Sebastian Rosado-Guindin tossed a 1-2-3 bottom of the seventh with a single strikeout mixed in.
