Griffins End PSAC Tournament Dreams With Doubleheader Sweep

INDIANA, Pa. – The Indiana University of Pennsylvania softball  program came into the Saturday showdown in a three-way tie for the last two spots in the conference tournament but ended up on the outside looking in after a pair of identical 10-1 losses to Seton Hill.

Jordan Sylvia hit a solo home run for IUP's lone score in game one with Delaney Patella doing the same in the nightcap.

Paige Truax was a perfect 3-for-3, all singles in the opener, while Madison Pikula and Sylvia both notched a pair of base hits.

Only two hits were recorded outside of Patella's long ball in the back half as Jaycee Haidze doubled and Tess Smiley singled plus Allyssa Schmidt drew the club's only walk.

The softball season has concluded with Indiana (PA) ending the year with a 26-23 (.531) overall record, 17-15 (.531) in PSAC play.

Their 26 victories were the most since the 2016 squad went 28-19.
