INDIANA, Pa. – The Indiana University of Pennsylvania baseball program needed three innings of "free baseball" against (RV) Seton Hill and had numerous chances to win but came up empty in 9-3 and 5-3 losses.
Harrison Pontoli drove home the only two RBIs of game two with a laser beam home run that cleared the fence in left-center, scoring Markus Cestra to knot things up at three in the sixth.
Cestra laced a pair of doubles on the afternoon and was responsible for two of the club's three ribbies in game one, reaching via a walk as well.
Derrick Shields would have pitched a complete game if not for the bonus baseball, tossing a season-high seven strong innings of three-run ball, walking none, and sitting down four Griffins.
Davis Kessler had a great first contest, going 3-for-4 and scoring a run while Davin Landers spread three hits throughout the day.
Indiana (PA) will host PSAC East foe Shippensburg on Tuesday at 3 p.m. for a single game prior to returning for PSACtion.
