WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (14-4, 10-3 PSAC)

IUP women's basketball looks to conclude a demanding stretch with a victory on the road at Clarion (0-19) on Wednesday night at Tippin Gymnasium before a bye this weekend. IUP put together one of its best all-around performances all season with a 61-51 victory on Monday night against California (Pa.)
IUP moved to second place in the PSAC West with a wire-to-wire victory, holding the Vulcans to a season low in points and field goal percentage.
Rahmena Henderson led the way for the Hawks with a game-high 18 points and four steals over 40 minutes.
Grace Centrulla was active with six points, 12 rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals.

IUP men's basketball looks to refocus following a hard-fought 65-57 setback to No. 17/13 California (Pa.) on Monday night. The Crimson Hawks battled back from a halftime deficit to move in front early in the second half before the Vulcans iced the game with tough defense and efficient foul shooting.
Garvin Clarke and
Ethan Porterfield each recorded double-doubles for IUP, which could not overcome a 26-to-11 margin in foul shot attempts. Porterfield continues rising up the all-time scoring list with 1,638 career points, moving up a notch to fifth in school history, now 41 points shy of sole possession of fourth (Brandon Norfleet; 1,678).

Skyes & Sabock Invite (Penn State)
IUP sends a split group to a pair of meets this weekend, taking part in the two-day YSU Mid Major Invitational (Feb. 2-3) and Penn State's Skyes & Sabock Invite (Feb. 3). The Crimson Hawks posted seven Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying times and eight top-five finishes last weekend at the 25th Annual Bison Open, hosted by Bucknell.
Kendall Branan was victorious in the 500m for IUP last weekend, while
Renee Simmonds had a strong showing in the pentathlon that included a win in the shot put. Following the weekend, the Crimson Hawks have one more meet on February 10 before the PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

IUP Senior Recognition Intrasquad -- 1:00 p.m. – Pidgeon Natatorium – Indiana, Pa.
IUP swimming & diving continues rounding into form ahead of the 2023 PSAC Championships in mid-February. The Crimson Hawks will begin the week with a diving meet at Clarion on Friday before the team recognized its nine seniors on Saturday afternoon at Pidgeon Natatorium.
The Hawks have been idle from competition since a busy stretch at the Keystone Aquatics Center on January 19-20. Saturday, seniors

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Saturday, February 3
at Carnegie Mellon -- 3:00 p.m.
IUP women's tennis returns to action for the first time in the 2024 portion of the schedule, heading to a familiar site to face Carnegie Mellon at the Greensburg Racquet Club on Saturday afternoon. First year head coach Andy McGlashen and the new-look Crimson Hawks put together an impressive fall slate, that included the second doubles victory in the ITA Cup in program history from the duo of
Dani Ramos and
Ming Deewajee. The duo are ranked 15th nationally by the ITA, also ranked regionally in singles play along with
Katy Graydon.
Overall IUP went 31-17 (.786) in singles action during the fall and 22-6 (.786) in doubles action.
Lydia Vlachou and Graydon continue climbing up the IUP record book in several categories and hope to lead a talented squad to another deep postseason run this spring. The Hawks have a busy spring schedule ahead of them, set for 21 scheduled dual matches prior to the conference championships that begin on April 30.
