The Hawks cruised to a 77-41 win over the Raiders Sunday afternoon

INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP women's basketball improves to a five-game winning streak after they defeated the Shippensburg Raiders 77-41, Sunday evening at the KCAC. 
 
Nysahe' Weaver led the Hawks with 11 points on efficient 5-7 shooting, while also grabbing seven rebounds and tallying five steals. Shamia Strayhorn paced the first half with 10 points and added two more in the second half, along with a block and a steal. Grace Centrulla contributed six rebounds, two assists, and an impressive four blocks.
 
Off the bench, Madison Zavasky made an impact with 13 points (4-9 FG, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, and three steals, while Marin Miller chipped in 11 points, four rebounds, and three steals
 
In the first half, the Hawks shot 12-30 from the field and 6-9 from the free-throw line, committing only four turnovers while forcing 11 from Shippensburg. The Raiders ended the game with 21 turnovers, which IUP converted into 27 points, with 33 points coming from the Hawks' bench.
 
IUP took control early with a 12-point lead in the first quarter, scoring 33 points by halftime and holding Shippensburg to just 17.
 
The Hawks began the first on a good note after they forced three turnovers and converted all of them with layups. Ellie Wilkerson marked IUP's first three of the day at the five-minute mark. Janeira Scott added five points, including a jumper and a three-pointer, while Strayhorn's three-pointer extended the lead to 10.
 
Wilkerson added a layup and free throw to push the advantage to 13 points, with Lily Jordan's free throw and Wilkerson's block closing out the first quarter.
 
The second quarter was low-scoring, with IUP managing just 11 points, three from free throws, while Shippensburg added seven.
 
IUP stormed ahead again in the third quarter after adding 25 points with the Raiders adding just 13. Miller's jumper with nine seconds left capped the quarter, bringing the score to 58-30.
 
Wilkerson set up Weaver with a pass for an easy layup, followed by a jumper from Strayhorn. Centrulla added to the momentum with a steal that led to another layup by Weaver. The Hawks took advantage of two steals each from Miller and Zavasky, converting them into fast-break points. Zavasky capped off the run with another steal and layup, extending IUP's lead to 39 points.
