WILMINGTON, Del. – Mark Edeburn dazzled on the mound for IUP with a complete game effort as the Crimson Hawks battled back for a 4-2 victory against Wilmington (Del.)
IUP (5-3) clawed back ahead on Friday, overcoming a 2-0 deficit with single runs in three straight innings. Edeburn delivered another strong start on the mound for the Hawks, which trailed 2-0 after four innings.
It marked the 14th complete game in Edeburn's career, moving into a tie for ninth in program history. He posted five strikeouts in the victory, now 12th in program history with 149 in his career.
Run-scoring singles from
Au'sean Owens and
Davin Landers were sandwiched around a sacrifice fly from
Blaise Zeiders. That stretch of plays pushed IUP in front at 3-2 in the seventh.
Owens finished with three hits and a pair of RBI, including a key insurance run in the ninth with a triple.
Harrison Pontoli,
Ricardo Aponte and Landers logged a pair of hits each in another well-balanced output.
IUP has now won five games in a row, while Wilmington falls to 9-6.
