>> Centrulla has started all 41 career games at IUP. This season she is averaging 25.0 MPG, 7.7 PPG, 5.3 RPG, and has grabbed 11 steals and 20 blocks. She scored a career-high at IUP of 21 points against Pitt-Johnstown on Wednesday, January 15th.
>> Cal U is ranked 6th in the PSAC West.
>> Cal U's most recent matchup resulted in a loss to the Edinboro Fighting Scots, 79-80.
>> Cal U's Allycia Harris led the team with 18 points, followed by Alicia Young with 16, and Talia Gilliard and Iyahnna Williams with 13.
CAL U AT A GLANCE
Cal U has an overalll record of 10-9 and a conference record of 6-6. The Vulcan's first PSAC loss was against Millersville in November, followed by West Chester at the beginning of December. Cal U then lost to Kutztown, #9 Gannon, #10 Seton Hill, and most recently, Edinboro.
The Vulcans are averaging 69.5 PPG, compared to their opponents who score 65.7 PPG. Cal U is averaging 40.9 RPG, 11.9 APG, 17.2 TO/G, 11.4 SPG, and 3.2 BPG. The Vulcans are shooting .383 from the field, .283 from the arc, and .629 from the line.
Cal U's top point scorer is Junior G/F, Alicia Young. Young is averaging 14.0 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 0.6 APG, and 2.1 SPG. Young is shooting .398 from the field, .233 from the arc, and .646 from the line.
Cal U's top rebounder is Senior Forward, Allycia Harris. Harris is averaging 7.8 RPG, 10.4 PPG, 1.8 APG, 1.3 SPG, and 0.7 BPG. Harris shoots .410 from the field and .564 from the line.
SERIES HISTORY
This will be IUP's 91st matchup against the Cal U Vulcans. Their first match took place in January of 1984, and their most recent meet resulted in a 54-57 loss on March 6, 2024. IUP averages 65.01 PPG against the Vulcans, and has a home record of 22-20, and an away record of 9-33 against Cal U. In their most recent game, Weaver led the Crimson Hawks with a double-double, scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Centrulla also helped chipped away at the lead, scoring nine points with four rebounds.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
Since the opening of the KCAC in the 2011-12 season, IUP has had an outstanding home court advantage to go along with a nationally prominent basketball program.
IUP boasts a 165-30 (.846) record in home games since the venue opened, not losing more than four home games in a single season during that span. At the KCAC, the IUP women have won:
- 9 of 11 games in 2024-2025 (9-2)
-13 of 15 games in 2023-24 (13-2)
-13 of 17 games in 2022-23 & 2021-22 (13-4)
WILKERSON MAKING HER WAY
Ellie Wilkerson has started all 17 of the games she has appeared in. She earned PSAC West Athlete of the Week on January 7 after her impressive performances at Daemen and Edinboro. Wilkerson posted her best performance of the season against Daemen, scoring 20 points on .643 shooting from the field with nine made field goals. For the week, she averaged 17.5 points per game, 33 minutes, and shot better than .500 from the field.
Overall, she is averaging 27.2 MPG, 10.6 PPG, 4.0 RPG, and is shooting .447 from the field. She has totaled 23 steals so far this season and has recorded at least one steal in every game leading up to Gannon. She has recorded at least two steals in seven games this season, most recently snagging four against Seton Hill. She has scored 15+ points three times this season.
A LOOK INTO STRAYHORN
Senior guard
Shamia Strayhorn leads the team in MPG, averaging 32.3 minutes, placing her at 16th in the PSAC. Strayhorn is shooting .410 from the field and has contributed 68 rebounds, 39 assists, 32 steals, and four blocks to the team. Strayhorn has led the team in assists six times this season, followed by steals six times. Her free throw percentage ranks 17th in the PSAC (.732) from 82 attempts.
MORE FROM MILLER
Millersville transfer
Marin Miller has started the new year strong. Since their first game against Daemen on the 3rd, Miller has begun increasing her PPG average, going from 4.8 at the end of December, to 6.2 this past week. Miller is also averaging 3.1 RPG and 1.7 APG. Miller had a career high of 24 points against Pitt-Johnstown on January 15.
FRESH OFF THE BENCH
IUP has utilized players off the bench through the season, including
Lily Jordan,
Madison Zavasky, and
Macie Jarrett. Freshman Jordan is leading the bench in points, shooting .492 from the field and averaging 7.3 PPG. Averaging 24.9 MPG, Jordan has notched 81 rebounds, 29 assists, 15 steals, and six blocks.
Macie Jarrett has witnessed more minutes this new year, averaging 8.9 MPG, all while averaging .455 from the field and .600 from the arc, Jarrett has posted 12 rebounds, two assists, and three steals.
