IUP Men's Basketball Names Armoni Foster to Staff

INDIANA, Pa. – Former Crimson Hawk standout Armoni Foster has been named an assistant coach for the IUP men's basketball team.

Foster, who played for the Crimson Hawks from 2018 to 2022, appeared in 102 games and made 77 starts under head coach Joe Lombardi. He averaged 33.4 minutes per game during his career, including a career-high 37 minutes per game as a senior.

"It is a real blessing to have Armoni back to work with us as a volunteer assistant coach this year," Lombardi said. "His success as a player, his knowledge of the game, and his love for IUP will help develop our young men on and off the court. He certainly exemplifies the IUP pillars of our program — gratitude, humility and commitment."

Foster led the PSAC in scoring as a sophomore and helped the Crimson Hawks earn the top seed in the Atlantic Region. He was a finalist for National Player of the Year in 2021-22, starting all 36 games while averaging 17.8 points and 6.5 assists. That season, IUP posted a 33-3 record and reached the NCAA Division II national semifinals.

Foster finished his IUP career with 1,522 points, averaging 15.1 points per game. He also played professionally in Ukraine, appearing in six games for Cherkasy.
