Balanced attack leads IUP to sweep over Edinboro

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Indiana University of Pennsylvania women's volleyball team used a balanced offensive effort to sweep Edinboro 3–0 (25–19, 25–18, 25–20) on Saturday afternoon at McComb Fieldhouse in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play.

The win improved the Crimson Hawks to 11–4 overall and 3–2 in the PSAC, while the Fighting Scots dropped to 5–8 and 0–3 in conference action.

Jessica Neiman led IUP with 12 kills and a .360 hitting percentage, while Charlotte Potvin added nine kills and Delaney Concannon contributed eight. The Crimson Hawks tallied 38 kills and a .241 team hitting percentage, holding Edinboro to just .136.

IUP controlled the tempo from the opening serve, taking the first set 25–19 behind a late surge sparked by strong play at the net. The Crimson Hawks carried that momentum into the second, using consistent attacking and tough serving to win 25–18. Edinboro fought to extend the match in the third, but IUP held off the push to close out the sweep 25–20.

Rylee Brown anchored the IUP defense with four blocks, while Concannon added three. Defensively, the Crimson Hawks also out-dug the Scots 54–38 and recorded six service aces to Edinboro's three.

Makayla Neelands paced Edinboro with 11 kills and 10 digs, while Reilly Parent chipped in seven kills.

The Crimson Hawks return home next week as they look to continue building momentum in PSAC play.
