INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP women's tennis team had a successful fall season, and the Crimson Hawks are being recognized for their efforts and performances in the first ITA national and regional rankings.
One of IUP's brightest stars, Asel Calbay, the ITA Atlantic Region runner-up, is ranked No. 21 in the country and No. 2 in the Atlantic Region out of 20 players.
Four other Crimson Hawks earned regional rankings: Lea Von Kozierowski is No. 5, Ifigeneia Kafka is No. 7, Charliz Tabili is No. 10, and Maria Moskaltsova is No. 13.
In the regional doubles rankings, three IUP pairs are listed among the top 10 duos. Von Kozierowski and Calbay are No. 3 in the region, Annemiek Sterk and Hannah Beitat are No. 4, and Isabelle Oikawa and Tabili are No. 6.
The Crimson Hawks will return to the courts in January, looking to capture the program's sixth consecutive PSAC title this spring.
