Elizabeth City State at a Glance
This marks the first meeting between IUP and Elizabeth City State. The Vikings finished last season with eight wins and ended the year on a four-game losing streak. The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) program went 5-12 in conference play and 0-3 in neutral-site contests.
Elizabeth City State was picked 10th in the CIAA preseason poll entering the 2025-26 season.
Virginia State at a Glance
IUP and Virginia State have met twice since 2021, with the Crimson Hawks winning both matchups. The most recent meeting came in November 2024, when IUP earned a 62-54 victory.
The Trojans went 23-7 last season, finishing as the CIAA runner-up before falling to Edinboro in the first round of the Atlantic Region tournament. Virginia State is under new leadership this season with head coach Millette Green.
The Trojans were picked to finish second in the CIAA behind defending champion Fayetteville State.
IUP at a Glance
IUP returns starters Ellie Wilkerson and Nyshae' Weaver, who each started 28 games last season. Weaver was one of two players in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) — and among fewer than 20 in Division II — to average a double-double. She averaged 14.8 points and 11 rebounds per game last season.
Wilkerson ranked second on the team in 3-point shooting, hitting more than 31% from beyond the arc. She averaged 11.2 points per game, finishing as the team's third-leading scorer.
