INDIANA, Pa. — IUP opened its season with a dominant shooting performance, rolling past Concord 93–74 on Friday night at Memorial Field House.
The Crimson Hawks shot 57.6 percent from the field and led 47–33 at halftime before pulling away early in the second half. IUP finished 38-for-66 from the floor and outscored the Mountain Lions 44–32 in the paint.
Senior forward Dallis Dillard led the Hawks with 29 points on 10-of-20 shooting and added five rebounds. Christian Moore scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while Kymani Merraro added 13 points and went 6-for-8 from the field.
Concord was led by Josiah Rickards, who scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds. Anfernee Hanna added 17 points and six rebounds for the Mountain Lions, who shot 41.3 percent and went 14-for-26 at the free-throw line.
IUP's bench contributed 22 points, and the Hawks assisted on 20 of their 38 made baskets. Concord's reserves finished with 13 points.
IUP improves to 1–0, while Concord falls to 0–1.
