GREENSBURG, Pa. — The IUP Crimson Hawks came from behind to defeat the Seton Hill Griffins 3‑2 in a closely contested match Saturday at the McKenna Center. IUP improved to 20‑7 overall and 9‑5 in PSAC‑West play, while Seton Hill dropped to 15‑11 and 7‑7 in the conference.
After dropping the second set 27‑25, the Crimson Hawks responded with set wins of 25‑21, 17‑25, 25‑20 and 16‑14 in the decisive fifth set. Senior Delaney Concannon led IUP with 31 kills, while Ellie Rauch contributed 66 assists. Team totals for IUP included 72 kills, nine aces and seven blocks, compared with Seton Hill's 53 kills, seven aces and 13 blocks.
Seton Hill was paced by Catie Flohr with 17 kills and eight blocks, and Payton Rodberg added 13 kills. Despite their effort, the Griffins could not overcome IUP's resilience.
The turning point came in the fourth set when IUP built an early 4‑0 lead and maintained control, setting up a tense fifth set that the Crimson Hawks closed out 16‑14. IUP finished with 88 digs to Seton Hill's 87, and hitting percentages were .185 for IUP and .171 for Seton Hill.
