IUP Women’s Soccer Ranked Fifth in NCAA Atlantic Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS – The IUP women's soccer team is ranked fifth in the Atlantic Region, one of seven PSAC programs listed among the top nine in the first set of numerical rankings released by the NCAA on Wednesday.

West Chester tops the regional rankings, followed by two PSAC West teams — Gannon and Slippery Rock. IUP is the third-ranked PSAC West team, rounding out the top five. The top seven spots are all held by PSAC programs.

Junior forward/midfielder Elle Smith leads NCAA Division II with 20 goals this season. As a team, IUP ranks sixth nationally in goals allowed, giving up just 0.353 per game. The Crimson Hawks have outscored opponents 51–6, with their 51 goals ranking among the top 10 in Division II.

Smith and sophomore Emily Lattea have combined for 33 goals, the most by any duo in Division II.
