Box Score WILMINGTON, Del. -- The IUP women's tennis team defeated the nationally ranked Wildcats 5-2 Sunday afternoon which extended their win streak to six matches.
Head coach
Andrew McGlashen was pleased with the team's performance over the past two days. The team traveled four hours and pulled off a 7-0 sweep yesterday and had a win today over a top-20 opponent.Â
IUP began the day winning the doubles point with all three pairs winning with a score of 6-2.
At No. 1 singles was Lieselotte Hartlohner who won with scores of 6-3, 6-4.
Ming Deewajee in No. 2 singles won the first set 6-1 but fell in the next two sets with scores of 3-6.
Dani Ramos at No. 3 earned a convincing win with scores of 6-2, 6-1.
At No. 4 was
Hannah Beitat who dropped the first set 3-6 and won the second set to force a tiebreaker, but lost 6-10.
Asel Calbay at No. 5 won with scores of 6-1 and 6-2, while
Annemiek Sterk in No. 6 singles won with scores of 6-4, 6-2.
