Box Score INDIANA, Pa. -- After being on the road over the weekend, IUP returned to the Maple Street Courts to take on California (Pa.) in a pivotal conference matchup. The Hawks defeated the Vulcans, 6-1 Monday afternoon.

IUP's overall record is 13-6 and are 5-0 in conference action, while they have extended their win streak to eight matches. 

IUP began the match winning the doubles points with wins in all three spots. Ming Deewajee and Dani Ramos (No. 1) and Lieselotte Hartlohner and Annemiek Sterk (No. 2) both won with set scores of 6-2. No. 3 doubles (Hannah Beitat / Asel Calbay) won with a clean 6-0 sweep. 

No. 6 singles was Isabelle Oikawa Torres who finished first for the Hawks with scores of 6-2, 6-0. No. 4 singles was Asel Calbay and she won with scores of 6-3, 6-1 while Sterk at No. 5 singles won the first set 6-4, and 6-0 in the second. 

Ramos at No. 2 singles won with scores of 6-1, 6-3 while Beitat won the first set 6-0 and fought for the second set victory of a 7-6 (7-5) score. 

IUP's lone loss came at No. 1 singles. Hartlohener fought hard but fell in the first set 6-7 (6-8). She then battled to win the second set 6-0 and forced a tiebreaker but came up shy, 6-10.
