IUP baseball concludes season on day two of PSAC Tournament

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. -- The IUP baseball team concluded the 2025 season with two losses on day two of the 2025 PSAC Tournament Thursday evening.

IUP wrapped up the season 25-27 over and marked their 18th overall PSAC Tournament appearance.

Game Five - (W1) Seton Hill
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Mike Huber and Elijah Dunn hit consecutive singles and both advanced on an error by the pitcher. With a 3-1 count, Mitchell Grosch homered, putting IUP on the board first, 3-0.

The Griffins responded in the top of the fifth with a two run homer to left field, 3-2. They tied the game at three each in the top of the sixth.

In the bottom of the inning, IUP loaded the bases from two hit by pitches and a single. However, a 6-3 double play left them all stranded.

Seton Hill took the lead in the top of the seventh with a two RBI single to center field, 5-3.

In the bottom of the ninth, Peyton Johnson led off with a single to shortstop and Cayden Bender drew a walk. Both advanced on a groundout, but a strikeout left them stranded.

Game Seven (Elimination Bracket) - (W2) California (Pa.)

IUP's lone run came in the first inning before California (Pa.) scored 14 unanswered runs to call the game in seven innings.

Ricardo Aponte drew a walk and advanced on Huber's single to center field, then Grosch's RBI single to left field scored Aponte. Johnson singled to left field, but a third out at home ended the inning.

The Vulcans combined for 11 runs between the third and fourth innings to put the game out of reach.
