INDIANA, Pa. — The IUP women's volleyball team opened day one of its annual Crimson Hawk Classic on Friday at the KCAC, sweeping both Chestnut Hill and Charleston (W.Va.) in straight sets. Six teams competed in a total of six matches on the day.
Match 1: IUP 3, Chestnut Hill 0
The Crimson Hawks jumped out to a dominant start in their opening match, taking the first set 25-7 — their most lopsided set win of the season. IUP followed with 25-17 and 25-12 victories to close out the sweep.
Three players posted double-digit kills, led by left-handed hitter Jessica Neiman with 12. Peyton Belcher and Charlotte Potvin each recorded their first double-digit kill matches of the season. Neiman also added five service aces.
IUP totaled 13 aces in the match, with three players tallying at least three. Delaney Concannon led the team with 15 digs, while Elle Rauch notched 35 assists without an error.
Match 2: IUP 3, Charleston (W.Va.) 0
Neiman once again led the offense with 12 kills. Concannon paced the defense with 16 digs, and Rauch added 29 assists in the nightcap.
The Crimson Hawks added 11 more service aces in the second match, bringing their total to 24 on the day. Rauch finished with 64 assists and just one error across both matches. IUP also recorded 11 total blocks on the day.

IUP returns to action Saturday with two more matches in the Crimson Hawk Classic. The Crimson Hawks face Elizabeth City State at 1 p.m. and take on Shepherd at 7 p.m.
