INDIANA, Pa. — Indiana University of Pennsylvania used balanced scoring and strong shooting to defeat Edinboro 93-73 Wednesday night at the Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex.
IUP (12-3, 7-2 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) jumped out in front early and never looked back, leading 42-30 at the break before extending the margin in the second half.
Christian Moore paced the Crimson Hawks with 24 points, hitting 9 of 15 shots, including four 3-pointers. Kymani Merraro added 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting and connected on all four of his 3-point attempts. Dallis Dillard contributed 18 points, making 8 of 9 free throws, and Damir Brooks finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.
IUP shot a collective 50.8 percent from the field and hit 50 percent (10 of 20) from beyond the arc, while converting 17 of 19 free throws.
Edinboro (8-9, 4-6 PSAC) received strong efforts from Amaan Sandhu and Bryce Baez. Sandhu led the Fighting Scots with 23 points, going 8 of 15 from the floor and 4 of 10 from three. Baez scored 18 points, and Mekhi Reynolds added 11.
The Fighting Scots stayed within striking distance early, but IUP's hot perimeter shooting and depth allowed the Crimson Hawks to pull away in the second half.
