IUP Men’s Basketball Travels to Seton Hill to Close January

INDIANA, Pa. — The IUP men's basketball team looks to close the month of January with a road victory Saturday afternoon when it visits Seton Hill in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Katherine Mabis McKenna Center.

The Crimson Hawks are seeking a bounce-back performance after letting a first-half lead slip away in a loss to California (Pa.). Seton Hill enters the matchup on a two-game losing streak, most recently falling on the road to Pitt-Johnstown.

IUP is led by head coach Joe Lombardi, who is in his 20th season at the helm of the program. Lombardi ranks among the top five active NCAA Division II coaches in career victories with 444 wins, including 275 in PSAC play.

Redshirt senior Dallis Dillard continues to pace the Crimson Hawks offensively, recording four games of 25 or more points this season. His output includes a career-high 31 points against Pitt-Johnstown, 29 against Concord, and 25-point performances versus Slippery Rock and East Stroudsburg. Dillard is the only Division II player averaging at least 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals per game this season, marking a career year following two injury-plagued campaigns.

Senior guard Christian Moore provides a steady perimeter presence, scoring a season-high 24 points against Slippery Rock earlier this year, two shy of his IUP career high. Moore ranks second in the PSAC in 3-point field goals made per game (3.4) and is seventh in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (.411).

Defensively, IUP has been one of the conference's most disruptive teams. Damir Brooks ranks second in the PSAC with 22 blocked shots, while Dillard leads the league with 51 steals. The Crimson Hawks have forced 10 or more steals in eight games this season and are 7-1 in those contests, including a season-high 15 steals in a win over D'Youville.

Saturday's matchup marks the final game of the month for IUP as it continues PSAC play on the road.
