PHILADELPHIA — The Indiana University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in an 18-6 win over Holy Family in nonconference action Saturday.
IUP built an early advantage with eight goals in the opening quarter and held a 13-4 lead at halftime on the way to the victory.
Leah Moyer paced the Crimson Hawks with four goals. Alexi Crosby, Macenzie Haragos and Maggie Boyle each added three goals as IUP produced a balanced offensive effort.
Mila Prusak and Nora Solomon each recorded five points. Prusak finished with one goal and four assists, while Solomon tallied one goal and three assists.
IUP controlled the game statistically, finishing with advantages in shots, draw controls and ground balls.
Holy Family was led by Gwen Varley with three goals, while Julie Gallardo, Taina Harkins and Casey Schuette each scored once.
The Crimson Hawks used three goalkeepers in the win, combining for five saves.
