ERIE, Pa. — Indiana University of Pennsylvania saw its season come to an end Tuesday night as Gannon erased a halftime deficit to win the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional championship.
The Crimson Hawks led at the break — just the second time all season Gannon trailed at halftime — but the top-seeded Golden Knights surged in the second half to pull away for the victory and advance to the Elite Eight.
IUP controlled the opening 20 minutes, building a narrow halftime advantage behind efficient offense and strong perimeter shooting. The Crimson Hawks dictated tempo early and kept Gannon off balance throughout the first half.
Gannon responded quickly after halftime, using a decisive run to take control. The Golden Knights capitalized on transition opportunities and improved shooting, gradually extending the lead as IUP struggled to regain its rhythm.
Christian Moore led the Crimson Hawks with 24 points, including six 3-pointers. Dallis Dillard added 15 points, while Damir Brooks contributed nine points and four rebounds.
IUP shot 39 percent from the field and hit 11 3-pointers but committed 17 turnovers, which Gannon converted into key scoring chances during the second half.
Despite several attempts to close the gap, the Crimson Hawks could not slow Gannon's momentum down the stretch.
The loss ends a strong postseason run for IUP, which reached the regional final with wins over Fairmont State and Virginia Union.
