INDIANA, Pa. — Third-seeded Indiana University of Pennsylvania opened the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament with an 85-66 victory over sixth-seeded Edinboro in a PSAC first-round matchup Tuesday night at the Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex.
IUP controlled the game from the outset, building a double-digit lead in the first half and taking a 43-25 advantage into the break. The Crimson Hawks never allowed the Fighting Scots to get closer than single digits in the second half, pulling away late to secure the postseason win.
Christian Moore led IUP with 17 points and six rebounds, while Luke Triggs added 16 points off the bench. Ian Herring knocked down four 3-pointers on his way to 14 points, and Dallis Dillard chipped in 13 points and nine rebounds. Damir Brooks anchored the interior with eight points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
The Crimson Hawks were efficient at the free-throw line, converting 24 of 30 attempts, and controlled the glass to limit second-chance opportunities for Edinboro.
Rowan Carmichael paced Edinboro with 20 points, while Amaan Sandhu added 14 and Bryce Baez finished with 12.
With the win, IUP advances to the PSAC quarterfinals and will travel to West Chester on Wednesday to take on the Godlen Rams. Tip-off will be at 7 p.m.
